Sa-weet Sunday Farm Dinner
at Dancing Bees Farm in September!
Mark Your Calendars NOW for Sunday Sept. 24, 2-5 pm.
Save the Date and be prepared to “Catch the Buzz” as we turn our attention to the “Business of Bees” with beekeepers and makers of all honey-centric things, Robin and Jeff Knight at my late September On The Farm hands-on cooking class at Dancing Bees Farm.
The weather will be perfect and the fun takes place in the honey room at Dancing Bees Honey Farm in Monroe, NC. In addition to meeting the bees, learning how they affect the harvest of the food you eat and tasting the honey, you can even have your photo taken in front of Robin’s ride, affectionately dubbed “The Bee Mobile”
Nothing sweeter (or better for you) than the taste of local honey! Just wait till you taste! And then just wait till you see what we’re going to prepare – a five course feast with honey in every dish! honey, candles and all of Robin’s beeswax and honey spiked lotions and potions will be available for sale at the class.
Cost is $85 per person. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve!
Dancing Bees Farm enjoyed hosting students from the Einstein School in Charlotte for a tour of the farm. Students enjoyed seeing the bees live and up close as well as the equipment used in harvesting honey. We ended the tour with a question and answer session in the “honey house” complete with a beeswax candle-making lesson . We discussed how important bees are to our food supply and showed all the great products you can make with beeswax!
Tickets are now available for our 2nd annual Family Farms Tour featuring 4 Union County farms: Dancing Bees Honey Farm, Middle Ground Farm, Rocky River Farms, and Windcrest Organics Farm. Dancing Bees Farm will have a bee demonstration cage from the NC Dept. of Agriculture on hand from 2-6 on Sunday, May 7th. When clocks moved forward, old man winter showed up at the farm and left 3 inches of snow! Of course, 24 hours later, you couldn’t even tell!
Thanks so much for your support throughout the year! Here is a photo Jeff took in the hives showing red pollen from the Henbit plant blooming now throughout our pastures…..Even the bees are all decked out for the Christmas holidays!
Get ready for fall decorating with these hand-poured beeswax pumpkin candles in either small or large sizes! Available in natural or orange and priced at $4.25 and $5.25 each.
Beeswax Pumpkin Candles ready for fall!
We enjoyed hosting the first “Our Family Farms Tour” along with Middle Ground Farm and Windcrest Organic Farms. We had over 120 adults and 37 children drop by and visit with the bees, see beeswax candles and taste different varieties of honey! Look for “Our Family Farms Tour” coming again this Spring!
